Austin, TX | Family Adventures while Living in an RV

With the holidays behind us, we headed out to Austin Texas to visit with Gerrit’s sister Laura and her husband Damon. They have two pups also so it was fun that the cousins had a chance to meet! Gerrit’s parents Penny and Dave had driven down to Austin for the holidays so we got to spend some time with them too!

It was a blast to play some tennis at the park. We also had so much fun playing card games like Exploding Kittens and other board games.

Surprisingly enough, Austin has some great climbing spots! We spent an afternoon at Reimer’s Ranch but could probably spend months exploring the area and working on all of the different climbing routes. Unfortunately, we are still working on our camera skills… our new GoPro’s battery died and we forgot the SD card for the Nikon. We’ll get better I promise! haha! However, I was finally able to complete a route and got all the way to the top. It was only around 25 feet tall but I will take it! We even got Laura up on the wall! Gerrit loved showing his family his new found hobby.

On our last day in Austin we took a long walk around Lady Bird Lake with Laura and Damon. The pups enjoyed the exercise and the weather was just beautiful! Laura took a photo of us with the city’s skyline in the background and also a picture of us when we were talking to the camera.

I can’t think of a better way to end 2016 than enjoying family! We had a lot of laughs made precious memories. Oh and the food. The food was good!

See you later Austin we definitely will be back!
