Gallup is a little town just on the boarder of the Navajo Reservation. The population is almost strictly natives. There was jewelry and rugs for sale all over the place, and they were really beautiful pieces of art.
We stayed at Red Rock State Park and enjoyed the beautiful weather and a near by climbing location just 20 minutes away that was super easy to access. We climbed after work several times and got back before it was dark to grill out. We are loving the extra daylight!
On Friday, our last night with electric and water hook ups I took the pups for a hike to Church Rock. It was a 3 mile loop, and we had a great time, just us girls!
It was a bit tricky playing fetch with Ella because all the stray and wild dogs. There are so many of them just roaming about, it is sad. However, that is a problem in this area. No matter how badly I wanted to there are signs everywhere that warn you not to feed them. There are also live traps around the park, in attempt to catch them.
We have a few more stops in New Mexico, but then we’ll be back in Texas!
Love,
Lindsey, Gerrit, Oakely, and Ella
Matthew 16:18
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
