Symptoms and Solutions

Current list of symptoms followed by what, if anything, I am doing to cope.

Symptoms

  • Waking early and often at night
  • Vivid dreams
  • Energy sensations, specifically on head and lower chakras
  • Vibrations, mostly at night but also during the day
  • Muscles twitches
  • Restless or achy legs
  • Decrease in guide communication and spiritual experiences (OBEs, lucid dreams, etc)
  • Increased calm and clarity
  • Incidents of mis-emotion, though they are getting fewer
  • Lack of motivation

Solutions

I have been waking so frequently the last week and my dreams are so vivid that I struggle to feel rested in the morning. I finally fixed this by taking a Benadryl last night and awoke this morning feeling rested! I still woke up several times and had vivid dreams, though.

The energy sensations and vibrations I experience are not unwanted so I don’t do anything about them except enjoy them when I have them. I did have an incident the night before last where I awoke with aching in my second chakra area but it went away once I woke up. There has been heart and root chakra buzzing on and off as well.

The muscle twitches are rare and do not bother me either. However, the restless and achy legs caused me to visit a doctor yesterday and get an ultrasound of the veins in my legs. It was discovered that I have venous insufficiency in my right leg in one of the saphenous veins. I made an appointment to close off the vein next Wednesday. It is a surgery but I am awake and there is no pain involved. And no, losing the vein is not bad. If I don’t get rid of it, it will just get worse and could cause pain and more restlessness in the leg as well as lead to varicose veins. My right leg is fine but they will monitor it since I get pain in it as well. I am just happy to know this is something that can be fixed and that it was not “all in my head”.

The decrease in guide communication is normal for this time. I was warned I would hear my guides differently and that is exactly what has occurred. If I have a concern or question, I have to send it out from me like I do when OOB, as a mental query. An answer is then returned as a feeling or an invitation to channel.

The incidents of mis-emotions are easily resolved by focusing on my heart center and listening. Sometimes I have to take a walk or I have to get away from the environment I am in, but most often just simply turning inward helps resolve it. Usually the lack of motivation I experience is linked to this mis-emotion and if I just simply allow myself to enjoy the present moment it disappears.

The incidents of calm and clarity are welcomed newcomers to this experience. It is not that I didn’t have them before but now it as if I can control when I have them. The clarity moments are the best as they tend to give me answers about what to do next. I get “ah-ha” moments and then know to take action. This is how I determined a trip to the doctor was warranted for my legs. I also recently decided to go back into session as I recognize I need help discarding limiting belief systems.

The Shift vs Ascension

I am beginning to back off once again from the “Ascension” hype on the internet. And yes, I am calling it a hype because it is mostly being presented as this new and life-changing event that just recently came to planet Earth to uplift us all. It is not recent. It has been part of the spiritual path all along. Always.

The more proper term for what is currently going on is Shift. The Shift itself is not ascension, though very much affecting and often times (most of the time) directly causing many of the intense symptoms and frequency accelerations we are experiencing right now.

What is the Shift? It is the shifting of the Earth’s poles and magnetic field. It is directly linked to astrological events to include the sun, the planets and this and other universes.

I wanted to clarify this as I, in turn, am being taught the differences as I go through the individual changes I am experiencing related to the Shift.

The Shift was first brought to my attention in October 2013. I posted this blog post – Tossing Pebbles – after receiving the message about it. I had no idea whatsoever the enormity of what I was told/shown. There is quite a bit of information in this post, some not so good, but I want you to focus mostly on the information about the shifting of the Earth’s poles and the reciprocal shifting of the “poles” of the human body. I have since realized what “poles” meant – the energy centers and resonance of the human aura, the mechanism that connects us (our Divine Self, Higher Self, Godhead, etc) to the human body, allowing us control over it.

In this physical reality, what happens to mother Earth, also happens to us. The current shifting of the poles is a natural phenomenon and quite common, occurring every 200,000 to 300,000 years (Source1, Source2, Source 3) However, for humans, this Shift would not be considered a common phenomenon. In fact, there is likely nothing in recorded history describing such an event or its effects upon humanity.

So what is Ascension and how is it different from the Shift?

Ascension, in simplest terms, is the merging of the human Self (Ego) with the Higher Self (Godhead, Divine Self, etc). This is an on-going, individual process. There is no map or outline of a sequential nature that will define ascension for any one individual. We all take our own path towards achieving it and the number of lives it takes for us also varies.

What can be more specifically defined is the Shift and its effects upon us and our ascension right now. Again, however, not everyone is experiencing the Shift in quite the same way because not everyone is at the same stage on the path to ascension.

As you can see, it is quite difficult to then say what is going on right now for all humanity because every human (in this I mean Soul utilizing a human body) is on such an individual path. All that can be generalized for everyone is the current energy changes brought about by the Shift. This is the same for everyone. When the frequency of the Earth shifts, so then does the frequency of the human body which in turn directly affects our connection to this physical host we occupy and so directly affects us.

In order to better adapt to these frequency changes, we (our Higher Self and the one in charge of the physical form) must make changes to the “system” in order to better control it. For some (not all) this means an acceleration of ascension. This acceleration is often accompanied by a “spiritual awakening” or sudden change in awareness compared to before the acceleration. Again, “acceleration” is variable, dependent upon the individual.

In the simplest terms, the changes made to the “system” are experienced by the human Self in various forms. Thankfully, most of the changes made by our Higher Self are done during sleep.

So there you have it in a nutshell. No, my explanation is not scientific by any means. If you want that, then you will have to seek it out for yourself. I am not one to go find facts and figures to prove my inner Knowing. I always say take what resonates with you and toss the rest or save it for later. This strategy has worked for me and so is often the advice I give for those with more questions than answers.

Update: Symptoms of the Shift

I wanted to quickly update everyone on my current symptoms.

Current symptoms:

  • deep, dream-filled sleep
  • lack of motivation
  • skin changes
  • muscle twitches
  • restlessness in legs
  • fatigue
  • thirst
  • vibrational fluctuations
  • buzzing in top three chakras
  • Increase in heart-centeredness
  • profound periods of knowingness
  • increase in calm/clarity
  • periods of intense emotional sensitivity (most noticeable in close relationships)
  • changes in perception

My dreams have a recurring theme of death/rebirth in them. I have had several now that seem almost precognitive. I have dreamed of two family members either becoming ill or dying. One is a family member whose husband recently died. In the dreams I am trying to avoid the deceased person but find myself laying right next to their corpse, disgusted. I recognize these dreams as signaling to me that I am currently working through certain cycles and patterns in my life that need to be discarded.

I wake several times a night knowing what is being discussed in the dreams and then returning to more dreams and waking again with knowingness. There is very little mental conversation going on between myself and my guides. It is now a feeling/knowingness/calm that pervades my being. This is quite uncommon for me but I like it.

My head continues to be covered in an energy helmet and at times my legs will become very restless and I will have to ground in order to calm them. This is rare, though. I also continue to be very thirsty despite drinking a gallon or more a day and am still experiencing skin changes.

Thankfully, most of the symptoms I currently experience are mild and the newer ones are positive and helpful in my daily life. I am especially thankful for the intense periods of calm, increase in clarity, and enhanced perception (though this can be overwhelming at times). I am very happy to be rid of the crazy brain fog, profuse sweating, headaches, visual changes, and

Savasana: Corpse Pose

The amazing happy feeling I had yesterday continues today. I got physically tired last night but could not fall asleep. I was still buzzing with a high, elation. Through the night I woke several times to the helmet sensation over my head, though it was greatly diminished from the intensity of April 2nd.

The energy has leveled out today. This short reprieve will likely make many people relieved who have been shaken up physically, emotionally and spiritually by this sudden shock wave of energy. Unfortunately, the reprieve will not be long as it will increase again tomorrow, April 4th.

I am looking forward to tomorrow. 🙂

Savasana: Corpse Pose

Although I do not remember many dreams last night, this morning after waking several times, I fell into the in-between and had a short semi-lucid dream.

In the dream I was in a golden colored room with golden colored furnishing. It was a very comfortable space and I felt relaxed. There was a man with me but I cannot recall his face now. He and I were discussing time and when talking about it I had a short dream within a dream about our discussion.

The dream within a dream was of me leaving a restaurant. I ran into some parents who were very happily chatting about a birthday party. One woman, who had short, curly blonde hair, said to me, “The teachers aren’t suppose to get here until later”. I said, “Oh I work different hours. I usually get to work at 9:45 and get off at 3:45”. She said, “Oh! I see. Those are odd hours”.

As I left and drove out of the parking lot I was thinking about my hours, trying to add them up 8 and finding they fell two hours short. I realized I had been late to work every day and decided to fix that.

I came back to the conversation with my guide and saw in front of me a word written on paper. It said, “Savasana”. I did not understand it at first so repeatedly spelled it to myself. At some point, though, my guide referred to the word and I knew exactly what it was and lay down on the floor in Savasana to demonstrate.

Interpretation

When I awoke I heard my children yelling downstairs and remembered they were coloring Easter Eggs (yes very early for that but my oldest is persistent!). I knew the dream was indicating that I needed to “get back to work”. My “work” being my family and physical existence. I knew this mainly because I had a song in my head that was saying, “The kids aren’t alright“.

The Savasana message was interesting to me and I knew that I was being instructed to sleep in this position, though I do not remember the specific conversation. I found this article on Savasana that gives a good explanation of why I was being instructed to lay in this position. Here is an exerpt:

Most of the time, we live in loops of distraction. Patanjali calls this avidya, or ignorance. Ignorance is related to the act of avoidance. In Savasana, however, we need not avoid. We simply notice, with evenly hovering attention, whatever shows up, and then allow it to pass on, to die, so that we can arrive in the present moment. Savasana offers the possibility of “a small death, every moment, every day,” says Pattabhi Jois. Much of what we notice in yoga practice is our patterns of attachment and repulsion…….Yet part of the process of allowing our preconceptions and our reactions to our anxieties to pass away is to allow for our categories of the unacceptable to fall away…….. Instead we lie down with all of our repulsions and all of our attachments, both of which are sacred, both of which teach us about our strategies of attraction and avoidance and where we are in relation to the present moment. Observing these patterns allows us to suspend those very strategies and surrender to the feelings that we have been avoiding. This surrender gives way to spaciousness in the mind and body. When one practices this way there is space enough for everything.

I received many messages yesterday indicating that my the next stage for me is to let go of more of those things – thoughts, beliefs, routines – which do not serve me and my purpose. I kept hearing the old gospel song, “Bringing in the Sheaves” and recognized with certainty that I need to work on letting go of two things: 1. Fear and 2. Attachment. I am also working on living in the present moment. All these fall in line with the Savasana message I received this morning.

We can all learn a thing or two from Savasana. I recommend to those struggling right now with the Shift to lie in this pose and allow yourself to surrender to the things (symptoms) you have been avoiding. Allow yourself to be detached from that which repulses you, observe it and allow it to pass as the moment passes.

As my guide loves to tell me, “This too shall pass”.

The Next Three Weeks: What to Expect

As the full moon approaches the energy seems to be building and building. I feel about ready to explode with energy! Yesterday I spent most of my day outside or exercising in an attempt to control the energy. Though I ended up feeling physically exhausted by day’s end, I did not sleep well. I tossed and turned most of the night and woke up four or five times. Each time I woke up from a vivid dream. All this despite taking Benadryl to help me sleep.

Today I can still feel the energy and I know it is only going to keep on rising. On a personal level this doesn’t really concern me since I seem to be better able to handle the energy increases than I use to. However, I know that with such increases others are not so good at adjusting and channeling the excess energy.

I have been forewarned that today there will be a “spike” at around 2pm CST. I am ready!

I can’t help but think about the message I received not long ago about a period of three weeks starting around the time of the full moon (coming up this Saturday). What do the upcoming changes mean for those still struggling with the Shift?

What to Expect

I am told that those who are in the beginning stages of the Shift, both conscious and unconscious of it, will be overwhelmed by the waves of energy soon to come. Some will be downright plowed over by it. This can result in flu-like symptoms – body aches and pains, headaches, fatigue, digestive problems, joint pain, stiffness, and lack of motivation to name a few. Mentally there will be some who just cannot handle the mental fog that descends down upon them seemingly from out of nowhere. They will be more negative – snapping at people and just being downright nasty at times.

Those who have progressed to the middle and later stages of the Shift may not notice much. It all depends on what chakra centers are being purged and aligned for them. Those working on the heart may find themselves overly emotionally charged both positive and negative. They also may have higher incidences of anxiety and heart palpitations. Those working on the throat chakra may be more or less talkative, have difficulties swallowing and/or have symptoms in the throat area that come on suddenly and then disappear just as suddenly.

Those working on the third-eye will sense the energy of others which could, in turn, cause them to mistakenly assume the emotions they are feeling are their own. They may pick up a myriad of emotions from others and this can be a challenge, especially if they are around people struggling with adjustment. For those new to this ultra-sensitivity to others emotions (empathy) it is a good idea to practice self-protection by grounding and protecting, using a crystal or just avoiding negative people.

Finally, those working on the crown chakra can expect physical symptoms such as skin rashes and sensitivity, insomnia, and stomach upset. Some will have more incidences of communication with their Higher Self and/or knowingness, intensely vivid dreams and even astral travel or trance states.

This website has a great list of the chakras and the body systems they affect. If you are struggling regularly with a specific physical or emotional issue you can look for it on this site and it will tell you which chakras it relates to. Then you will know what chakra(s) you are currently clearing and aligning.

I also want to remind you that chakra clearing does not always happen in a recognizable sequence. So, you may be experiencing multiple chakras clearing at once and in no particular order. I have found in my own experience, however, that the lower four chakras tend to clear prior to the three higher ones.

Tending House

My sleep is being interrupted again and this time I cannot return to sleep. My dreams are very involved and near lucid, making it difficult for me: 1. to forget and 2. to get a good rest.

Runaway Truck

I recall watching from above, as if viewing a movie, as a green garbage truck drove itself down a road. It then changed its mind and turned around. It did this again and again running into things in the process. I recall having a discussion with a police officer from a large city about this disturbance at the time. The feeling was that I was overseeing this small town and was being evaluated by my supervisor.

Me and my supervisor then hovered over continents of green. I had a feeling of being a traveler at this time and reviewing past travels. I do not remember all that was said but there was a mini-story in which I was with a group deciding where to go next.

I then was on land in a field of green watching my superior talking to an old woman. The old lady had Alzheimer’s and I recognized she had been the truck from before. Now she was driving an ATV amidst a field of buffalo. She accidentally ran into a cow and apologized as she returned. I watched all of this as an observer.

Interpretation

A garbage truck is a symbol of old habits that need to be “trashed”. To be a police officer represents one’s morality and conscience. Since my superior is also an officer it suggests I am being helped to follow this moral path. The Alzheimer’s woman likely symbolizes me and my “forgetfulness”. Since the woman runs into a buffalo, which symbolizes survival, strength or power, it suggests that my forgetfulness could harm my survival.

Tending House

I was watering my lawn which was dying and being overgrown by weeds. A kindly neighbor was helping me decide where to water. On one side I discovered a rocky creek with towering trees built into my yard. The trees went up so high I could not see the sky through them. I recall thinking someone had planted them all at the same time.

Inside I was rearranging furniture. I had three living areas and saw more towering trees, this time inside the house! There were people working on art projects as well. I complimented a student on his. He wheeled toward me a cart with a tray of opaque, white goo on it. They were heating it up. Another tray contained pomegranate but it looked more like circular, gel balls. I took one ball and mixed it with the goo and heated it up. I scortched it a little but then took the ball and rubbed it on my feet.

Interpretation

A house is an aspect of my subconscious. The front yard is the part of me I allow others to see. I have weeds in my yard suggesting there are things needing tending to in my life. The water is emotion and my attempt to grow positive relationships in my life. The trees represent a positive aspect of this part of me, specifically my spiritual development and focus on myself. It is the most orderly part of the yard.

Inside my house there are also trees indicating strength. Living rooms represents beliefs I have about myself and life and the barriers I put up between my public and private self. The pomegranate represents good health but also the allure and invitation of sex. The fact that I am rubbing this into my feet suggests that I am seeking to add this into my life and identity.

I felt really off when I woke up over an hour before I was suppose to. I told my guides, “If my sleep is going to keep being interrupted by these weird dreams, I would rather not remember them”. I was reminded of the time period when I did this before and how lacking I felt. I saw this truth but then also saw there was still something lacking. I recognized this “lacking” to be what is interrupting my sleep and causing me to feel disconnected from my life. I saw then the connection between my feet in the dream and my current feelings of being disconnected from my life.

  • Periods of total calm
  • Odd, heavy energy that descends over crown of head
  • Sleep disturbances

Coping Mechanismsclary-calm-did-you-know

This is what I have been doing to handle some of my symptoms:

  • Upset stomach – I drink a glass of water and eat something calming like oatmeal with fruit
  • Leg restlessness and pain – Put feet up and/or meditate to ground energy
  • Dry skin – Wash face with grapeseed oil, limit harsh chemicals
  • Increased thirst – Drink!
  • Back pain – Yoga, stretching, exercise
  • Headache – Ask for healing, rarely I take Ibuprofen
  • Tiredness/lack of motivation – When tired, I try to sleep; for motivation I go outdoors
  • Sleep disturbances – Meditate, focus on heart chakra, let it pass without fixating on it

These are life changes I have made that have either eased or completely eliminated my symptoms:

  • Drinking mineral water with apple cider vinegar in the morning with daily probiotic
  • Limiting gluten (not gluten-free, I can’t do that)
  • Limiting sugar and refined carbohydrates
  • Drinking alkaline water from Kangen machine daily (usually 1 gallon or more)
  • Eating organic as often as possible
  • Eating 3 or more servings of veggies daily
  • Stopped using antiperspirant deodorant completely

Current DoTERRA Essential Oil Usage

  • ClaryCalm/Monthly Oil Blend– aids in self-acceptance, expressing one’s inner child, enhances sexuality, promotes balance
  • Whisper/Women’s Oil Blend – assists in balancing masculine/feminine energies; calms anger and other negative emotions
  • Patchouli – helps individuals be more grounded and stable
  • Serenity/ Calming Oil Blend – calms negative feelings, promotes forgiveness of self and others, assists in relieving self-criticism and judgement of others/self

Energy Adjustments

Since receiving the message to expect a fluctuations in energy this week, I have yet to have a significant energy event of my own. At first I was disappointed, assuming I was supposed to be having an “event” Tuesday night and having not had anything out of the ordinary occur. This assumption was obviously wrong.

What did happen was exactly what I had been told would happen.

Monday was full of subtle activity. First, I had a dream in which I was sorting through tiny crystals of varying colors, the most memorable a small carnelian stone. During the day I had almost constant energy in my head. It felt similar to healing energy and at times it formed a type of energy helmet around my head. Toward evening, I applied some essential oil to my heart chakra, an oil blend called Clary Calm, or Women’s Blend. Almost immediately I began to experience a sharp, stabbing pain right below the point where I had applied it. I continued and did my yoga practice with the intention of self-love, and the pain subsided. As I settled down for the evening I began to experience a very unsettled, almost nervous energy and had to ground in order to relieve it. It came on very suddenly with adrenaline and everything. It was quite scary, as if I were the victim of some brutal crime.

Tuesday there was more energy over my head and my heart chakra was buzzing with intense activity near the top section of it. This came and went throughout the day and was not uncomfortable but very distracting. I also experienced tingling in my arms and a mental fog that caused me to feel like I was walking in a haze most of the day. All day I was also very, very thirsty. That evening I had vivid dreams about relationships in my life and woke early, unable to fall back to sleep.

Today I have felt much more balanced but still have some heart chakra activity from time to time. I had a dull headache that almost immediately went away after yet another energy “helmet” sensation. I am still experiencing the brain fog and memory hiccups.

List of Symptoms

  • Vivid, healing dreams
  • Brain/memory fog
  • Energy sensations in heart and head
  • Energy “helmet” over head
  • Stabbing pain in heart
  • Emotional overwhelm
  • Nervousness/fear out of nowhere
  • Tingling in arms
  • Headache
  • Increased energy that affects sleep
  • Increased thirst

Methods Used to Ease Symptoms of Adjustment

  • Yoga
  • Grounding
  • Taking long walks outside
  • Drinking lots of water
  • Looking up at the trees and listening to sounds
  • Rigorous exercise (weight lifting, running)
  • Essential oils of Frankincense, Patchouli, Serenity Blend, Clary Calm, Geranium

Note: I have avoided using the Clary Calm oil blend on my heart chakra since the stabbing pain occurred but my research shows that I may have used the right oil blend after all. This oil blend assists those who have overly masculine tendencies by helping them accept and become more in tune with their feminine side. Unknown to me, I had accidentally used exactly the right oil! So I plan to use it again today, in moderation. Perhaps it is just what my heart needed.

Benign

I just got a call from my dermatologist’s office. I was told the biopsy result. She called it a “benign irritated seborrheaic keratosis”. She congratulated me and hung up. When I looked up the term I learned it is basically an irritated mole.

I texted my husband and he sent back, “What???” I laughed because I had no idea what it was either until I looked it up. It basically is just a mole that somehow got irritated. Considering how dry my skin had been (it is no longer that way) I am not surprised. I am still wondering where the mole came from in the first place. There wasn’t one there before. It just appeared out of nowhere.

In my research I found that these moles are linked to a metabolic disorder known as Syndrome X. Curious, I read more about it. My mother and sister fit the description almost perfectly! Me, not really. The only thing I have – well had – was overly dry skin. However, it is clear that I am a likely candidate for such a disorder based upon my genetics and past bad eating habits. I wonder if anyone in my family has this condition?

Ascension After All?

So now I am again thinking my physical issues may have in fact been ascension related. Most of my complaints are gone now. This temporariness is characteristic of ascension symptoms. They come on suddenly and then leave just as suddenly. They may stick around for a while (hours to days to a few weeks), making you paranoid that you are seriously ill, but they go away just the same.

Since my last symptoms list I have lost the following symptoms (they vanished):

  • Dry skin
  • Headaches
  • Extreme thirst
  • Extreme hunger especially at night
  • Deep sleep
  • Eczema/rash/mole/skin sensitivity
  • Sexual dysfunction/disinterest

My current symptom list:

  • Lower back ache
  • Upper back tightness
  • Sweating
  • OBE’s and lucid dreams
  • Direct guide communication while OBE or in lucid dream
  • Vision issues at night where image stops and seems to “jump”
  • People starring at me for no reason
  • Energy sensations/buzzing
  • Ringing in ears on and off
  • Trapped/built up energy in chakras resulting in intense need to ground energy

Hypoglycemia

Most of the day yesterday I felt very on edge. I felt very close to breaking down into tears most of the day and that was curious to me. Yes I had a bad day the day before but it really didn’t signal “the end”, did it? Yet that seems to be how I was feeling/thinking most of the day yesterday. I literally felt that this was just the beginning and more was to come.

Hypoglycemia

Last night I woke up three times. Each time I had to use the bathroom, which is very irritating to me in itself. However, one time I awoke thinking the word “hypoglycemia”.

I had been dreaming about going into a very large bathroom. It had a very wide, open layout and the shower was one of those that was built into the room and open so that someone with a wheelchair could use it. I remember thinking about this while I was in the bathroom. I used the shower while fully clothed and then left. I remember that my clothes were still dry even though I had just showered.

Taking a shower indicates healing in a dream. Specifically spiritual and/or physical renewal. The fact that I had my clothes on indicates that change in my outward appearance does not change who I am on the inside. Being in a bathroom could be a direct reflection of me needing to use the restroom or it could be indicating a desire to cleanse myself emotionally and psychologically. Perhaps it is both.

I instantly put the two things together – the thought of hypoglycemia and the shower dream. I then had a memory of the search I had done on the internet about my frequent need to urinate during the night, my intense thirst throughout most of the day and some of my other issues. The top result was hypoglycemia.

Why was this in my mind upon waking?

When I was 28, I had a very scary experience while at work. I lost my vision, felt faint and had to sit down. Upon sitting, I could not see anything and it was really scary. The nurse was called and sent me some orange juice and peanut butter crackers. Within a minute of drinking the orange juice, my vision returned and after I ate all of the snack I felt normal.

I went to the doctor who could find nothing wrong with me and she told me I was hypoglycemic. She instructed me to eat every 2-3 hours and told me what to eat. I did this and did not have an issue again until I was pregnant.

I had previous experiences like that all the way back to my early 20’s. One time i checked my blood glucose levels with a coworkers device. My blood sugar was 72. This is very low but I felt fine. One is considered hypoglycemic when their blood sugar levels drop below 70. Here are symptoms of hypoglycemia:

  • blurry vision
  • rapid heartbeat
  • sudden mood changes
  • sudden nervousness
  • unexplained fatigue
  • pale skin
  • headache
  • hunger
  • shaking
  • sweating
  • difficulty sleeping
  • skin tingling
  • trouble thinking clearly or concentrating
  • loss of consciousness

When I have had episodes of low blood sugar I experienced: blurry vision, rapid heartbeat, mood changes (horrible ones!), nervousness, fatigue, headache (always), hunger (sometimes), shaking (horrible), skin tingling, trouble thinking clearly. I almost had the loss of consciousness that one time. That meant my blood sugar had gotten very low. Scary!

cosmicshowerDiabetes

I was told at the time that I did not have diabetes, just low blood sugar caused by my intense exercise routine and not eating enough. When I adjusted my diet, I had no more issues. If I ever did feel the symptoms come on, which for me are irritability, hunger, and headache, then I eat and they went away.

But now I am experiencing increased thirst and hunger throughout the day even though I have decreased my exercise and intensity of exercise substantially. I still eat five or six times a day, but I am finding that within an hour of eating breakfast I am hungry again! Add to that the skin issues I have been having, the sexual disinterest (dysfunction), irritability, fatigue, blurry vision or vision changes, tingling in my hands/feet, and it sure seems very likely that I have or am developing diabetes. For a full list of symptoms, click here.

I also have a family history of type 2 diabetes. My grandfather was diagnosed with diabetes in his 70s. He had a sister who lost a foot from diabetes. All of his six brothers and sisters got diagnosed with it later in life. My mom is hypoglycemic and getting worse (though she would deny it).

Putting Two and Two Together

Once I was up and thinking about all of this information it did not take me long to connect it with the other messages I have gotten. Not long ago I was told, “Listen to your body” and it is like that message has made me ultra sensitive to everything going on with my body. I actually started thinking I was becoming a hypochondriac! But the feeling only intensified after my dermatologist appointment.

I long ago asked myself what the cause of my death would be. I instantly knew it would be kidney failure. I put it on a “shelf” in my mind to save for later. I now cannot ignore the fact that the kidneys suffer from what diabetes does to the body. Nor can I ignore the fact  that in two of my three pregnancies my kidneys were the first area of my body to threaten to shut down from pre-eclampsia. I have also had protein in my urine since I was a small child. No known reason for it and the amount is always so slight that the doctors never worry about it.

Maybe I am over thinking all of this but I cannot ignore the feeling. So I will be looking for a doctor in the area and getting a complete physical to find out if there is really anything wrong with me.
