I have been writing! Yesterday, I sat down and wrote the first chapter of my book Preparation. The following is an excerpt from Chapter 1: Earthbound. It is my firsthand account of the ending of my last life. When that life ended, I was initially unable to transition to the Other Side and was earthbound (ghost).
Everything is dark. A cold, inescapable chill envelopes me, burdensome and heavy. Fear turns to dread. Confusion takes over.
Why? I don’t understand. Why?
Memories flood in. I see my mother. I can feel her hugging me, pulling me close and tucking me into bed. I see her warm smile and her vivid blue eyes. She smells of soap and honeysuckle.
Smells from the kitchen waft in and hit me full force. I take a deep breath in.
Bread. Mama loved to bake bread.
I hear the sound of my dog’s feet across the wood floor as he runs to greet me. Feel the wetness of his nose and tongue as he licks me in the face.
I see a ray of soft, orange light enter through my bedroom window as I wipe the sleep out of my eyes.
The warmth. So. Much. Warmth.
When I completed this first chapter of Preparation I immediately burst into tears. So far this has been an incredible journey of integration, and this except is very close to my heart.

This is so exciting! Keep up the momentum. I don’t have any conscious past life memories but some must include curries and raita!

Thanks for sharing, Dayna. What an exciting book project! This is well written, I think. The description of the sense perceptions make it vivid. The short sentences are very readable. I wish you much success.

Thank you you so much for the feedback. It took me an hour to write this first chapter. Everything just flowed so easily. I hope it continues that way.
